Smoky Mountain Meals on Wheels is a WELLNESS not a WELFARE program. We proudly serve the area senior/disabled population in Blount County, an area known as “The peaceful side of the Smoky Mountains”. Areas include Townsend, Happy Valley, Walland, Seymour, Tallassee, Maryville, Alcoa, Louisville, Friendsville, Rockford, Greenback and Top Of The World. Our in-house developed program, called RAMP (Rural Area Meal program) targets an individual’s needs and addresses the root cause of a personal food shortage. Based on an individual’s need, we can provide one of three levels of service.
Level 1: For seniors who are still able to prepare meals but who have a hard time getting to or affording food, we deliver bags of staple groceries (and some goodies!) on a monthly basis.
Level 2: To promote independence for our seniors who are able to store food properly, operate a microwave/oven and who are able to choose when and what to eat, we provide a weekly delivery consisting of 1 hot and 4 frozen homemade lunches.
Level 3: Our highest level of service in RAMP is a daily delivery where each client receives a hot meal delivered at lunch time. Please scroll down to download a sample monthly menu for delivered lunches.
